The slot maker’s adoption of the zoo’s resident pair puts a charity angle on what is otherwise a straightforward product launch, and gives operators a ready-made talking point.
Animal-themed slots are a staple of the iGaming catalogue, but launches tied to real animal welfare initiatives remain uncommon. BF Games launched Honey Beast on 7 October 2026 and marked the occasion by symbolically adopting a pair of honey badgers at Exmoor Zoo in North Devon.
A conservation hook for a character-led slot
Honey-badger-themed iGaming content is rare, which gave BF Games an unusual opportunity when it came to launching Honey Beast. The studio decided to mark the game’s debut by symbolically adopting Exmoor Zoo’s resident honey badger pair, Mr and Mrs Stoffel, whose adoption fee helps fund their daily upkeep.
The pair are named after Stoffel, the honey badger who became well known online for a series of elaborate escape attempts filmed at a South African wildlife sanctuary. Mr and Mrs Stoffel arrived at Exmoor Zoo more than a year before their escape-proof enclosure was finished in 2022, with keepers using puzzles and food devices to keep them occupied in the meantime. The initiative was originated by Radosław Biernat, Head of Marketing at BF Games.
Biernat said:
‘Our team had so much fun creating the cheeky, fearless hero in Honey Beast, so when we found out Exmoor Zoo was home to a real-life duo with the exact same energetic personality, we couldn’t resist. We are happy to support them, and the adoption is our way of saying thank you to the keepers who look after them every day.’
Mechanics and maths
Honey Beast runs on a 6-reel, 4-row grid with 4,096 ways to win, medium volatility, and a 5,525x maximum win. Its RTP is 96.32%, with operator-configurable versions at 94.18% and 92.32%.
The central slot mechanic is the Collector, which accumulates the value of each bonus symbol visible on the reels, giving players a running view of potential winnings at all times.
Coin symbols pay up to 10x the stake; Reward symbols come in three tiers, Minor (25x), Major (250x) and Grand (2,500x). Both Coin and Reward symbols can appear in the base game as well as the bonus round.
When two Collector symbols land simultaneously, each triggers independently and the resulting wins combine. The bonus round, Honey Money Games, is unlocked by three Scatter symbols and awards 2, 3, 5 or 7 free spins, selected at random. During those spins, only Collector, Coin and Reward symbols appear on the reels.
Two entry routes are available for the bonus round.
- Extra Chance doubles the likelihood of triggering it for an additional 20% of the stake, without altering winning combinations in the base game.
- Buy Feature gives direct access to the round outright.
Operator positioning
Piotr Sałuda, Chief Product Officer at BF Games, said:
‘Honey Beast is easy to explain and easy to remember. A clear Collector mechanic, a bonus round players can reach in more than one way and a 5,525x max win make it a title that operators can promote with confidence.’
The game is available now via the BF Games catalogue.
