AMD Expects PC Sales to Decline in 2027 Alongside Industry
During its Q3 2026 quarterly results, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su expressed expectations that its client PC business will decline significantly in 2027, possibly by double-digit percentage points. The entire industry is experiencing price hikes due to the tight supply of crucial PC components like GPU memory and system RAM. These rising prices have been driving down sales in the client sector, while the enterprise sector has been thriving with strong EPYC CPU sales and Instinct MI accelerator sales to AI labs, hyperscalers, and neoclouds. While a rising tide lifts all boats in the AI datacenter space, there is an opposite lowering tide in the client PC industry, projecting a general decline in this segment.

In 2027, we are planning for PC market unit shipments to decline by a double-digit percentage. In this environment, we expect to outperform the market as we deliver our Ryzen roadmap and grow our commercial footprint.
